This piece demanded the most time and patience to become one of my most intricate and physically demanding prints ever. It was meticulously hand-carved and hand-printed on canvas, taking half a year to complete. The subsequent year was dedicated to hand-stitching every thread throughout the campus, resulting in my inaugural mixed-media piece. This artwork encapsulates my early explorations of nostalgia, childhood memories, and uncertainty, concepts I delved into during my 20s while pursuing graduate studies. Since that initial idea and subsequent carving in 2021, numerous other projects have been undertaken in between. Finally, after a long wait, it was printed on canvas and stitched in 2025, marking the beginning of 2026. In essence, it took a remarkable five years for this piece to evolve into its current form, and I am profoundly grateful for the journey it has taken. Despite moments when I yearned for the convenience of a sewing machine, I was determined to connect with the traditions of embroidery and the years of practice that women and men have devoted to this craft.
